Midtown? Sushi? The answer is simple: Sushi Yasuda. Located on 43rd and 3rd, Sushi Yasuda is Midtown’s hottest sushi restaurant. Interestingly enough, it is also one of VERY FEW restaurants that I will happily avoid going to. Why? Per the restaurant’s website, “Sushi Yasuda uses a mix of Japanese short and medium grain rice, combined with Japanese red and white rice vinegars, Japanese sea salt and a small amount of sugar.” Yes, you read it.. there is gluten in the rice…
So, what can the nobread crowd eat at this ALL sushi restaurant? The appetizers. To start, absolutely order the edamame and the grilled salmon or chilean sea bass with SALT, NOT teriyaki. I also recommend the grilled vegetable app. And for your mains, if you like raw fish, order the sashimi norice.
Overall, Sushi Yasuda is NOT nobread friendly and I recommend going elsewhere. Clients love it here, but I promise you; you will leave hungry.
