Ice cream shops in Los Angeles are a dime a dozen, and with shops on every corner, it’s hard to determine which ones are the best! Well, Sweet Rose Creamery, located in Brentwood, Santa Monica, and Fairfax, is one of the most popular ice cream shops in the city, and for good reason. The ice cream at Sweet Rose is homemade and they use organic milk and creams from local farms. They also make every effort to source ingredients from farmers who practice sustainable farming practices…
Not only does the ice cream at Sweet Rose look beautiful, but there are a large variety of flavors, including sorbet options for those who are dairy free! The flavors change monthly; staple flavors include vanilla, chocolate, mint chocolate chip, and salted caramel. I went in April and indulged in the blood orange and kiwi sorbet. Both were awesome and perfect for the fruit lovers out there. April flavors that sparked my interest include the olive oil, banana, and cinnamon ice creams. So unique! Dairy free and vegan flavors are noted as such, and all toppings are gluten free except for the crumble and brownies. Yes, that means sauces and syrups are fair game!
Sweet Rose also has a freezer of goodies and they are famous for their banana splits and ice cream sundaes, both of which are gluten free as long as you choose GF ice creams and toppings! Also, all freezer items are GF except for the cookie sandwiches. Sweet Rose is adorable, the staff is friendly, and I love their dedication to using healthy, sustainable ingredients. Sweet Rose, I’m impressed!
