Forget the dirty water dogs from the city streets! Swizzler is a DC food truck that is changing the hot dog game. With their pun-filled hot dog names and creative energy, Swizzler is a food truck that is not to be missed…
Swizzler places a premium on serving organic products. All of their hot dogs are made from grass-fed beef. The hot dogs stand out because of their signature corkscrew shape, from which they get their name. Swizzler has a wide array of flavors that are inspired on both the local and global level. Flavors range from an Italian themed hot dog (The LdV, Leonardo Dog Vinci), to the J(ersey) Dog.
The first time I saw the Swizzler truck, I assumed there wouldn’t be anything gluten-free; and thankfully, I was proven wrong. Anything Swizzler offers can be made NOBREAD approved! The staff at Swizzler is more than happy to make any of their hot dogs without a bun. I ordered the LdV, with no bun, and was not disappointed! The LdV has fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and drizzles of pesto and balsamic. I paired my LdV with Swizzler’s truffle Parmesan fries. The hot dog and fries were both amazing! Swizzler fries food in cornstarch; therefore, any fried item is NOBREAD-approved! Swizzler also offers crispy brussel sprouts that are so good, they will make you question everyone’s hatred for the vegetable.
The best way to find the Swizzler Truck is by checking their Facebook or Twitter account. Their most frequent stops include Georgetown University (37th and O Street NW), Foggy Bottom (25th and M Street NW), Farragut Square, Union Station, and Capitol South.
