The Butcher’s Daughter is one of my favorite restaurants in New York City, and Abbot Kinney is one of my favorite streets in Los Angeles. So what happens when my favorite NYC restaurant opens on my favorite street? Happiness is what happens! TBD Venice opened last month here in Los Angeles, and has been the talk of the town ever since…
Serving vegetarian cuisine, The Butcher’s Daughter is famous for their avocado toast, and a whole lot of things featuring avocado, which is great for me because we all know how much I love avocado. I love the menu at TBD in NYC, and I was so happy to see several of my favorite menu options on the menu here in LA, but I was also happy to see several new additions! The classic spicy kale caesar is on the menu, and gluten-free when you ask for no croutons, but a seasonal vegetable quinoa salad is also offered and just as delicious. The tacos verdes are offered in LA, but I call them “tacos verdes 2.0” as they are bigger and a bit more filling than the ones in NYC. Gluten-free bread is available, so for the avocado toast lovers like myself, you can indulge when you ask for gluten-free bread! The pizza’s are crowd favorites at the cafe, and can be seen on most tables, but unfortunately there are no gluten-free pizza options. My waiter assured me, however, that a GF pizza option is in the works! Other NOBREAD-approved options I recommend are the hummus with crudite, NO PITA, and the kale and cabbage slaw!
The Butcher’s Daughter is a very welcomed addition to the bustling and popular Abbot Kinney Blvd, and the cafe’s popularity isn’t going to die down anytime soon. For the LA folk who haven’t been to Butchers in NYC, you’re in for a treat. Head to Venice ASAP!
