The Little Beet in Midtown West has officially been added to my rotation of casual lunch spots… if only it was closer to my office! Everything at The Little Beet is 100% gluten free and unlike other midtown fast-casuals where you don’t know which oils and sauces are used on your veggies and meats, The Little Beet guarantees that your meal is cooked safely, and ingredients are all-natural, seasonal, hormone-free, and antibiotic free…
Similar to Westville and Friedman’s lunch, you have flexibility in ordering. You can order one of Little Beet’s pre-arranged salads, or you can create your own plate of one protein with two sides, or three sides for $11.50. Proteins use only non-GMO unprocessed ingredients and include chicken, skirt steak, salmon, and tofu, and sides include my favorites such as charred broccoli, cauliflower, sting beans, grilled sweet potato and kale. I went with the side order market plate and chose broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts. Prior to my meal, I had read reviews that portions at The Little Beet were small… this is not the case! Myself, as well as the two people I dined with, were served huge meals and very pleased!
Chef Franklin Becker has succeeded in his venture to make the first 100% gluten free fast causal NYC dining establishment. Not only is the food gluten free, but all packaging is biodegradable and plant based. Furthermore, The Little Beet offers air-fried sweet potato, beet, and kale chips- specialty foods latest trend. Fast, healthy and delicious; The Little Beet is my NUMBER ONE spot to pick up lunch or dinner.
