I found my new “going out” spot! The Nice Guy, located in West Hollywood, has climbed its way to the top of my favorite places in Los Angeles to go out for the night. The scene is fun, and for the New Yorkers reading this, it reminds me a bit of Acme. To top it off, the food at the restaurant is pretty awesome. My favorite restaurants are those that have “dinner with a scene;” enjoy your meal and head to the bar afterwards, you won’t be disappointed with your night…
The menu at The Nice Guy has a lot of lounge classics including meatballs, flatbreads, and rice balls; all of these are NOT gluten free. However, besides these dishes, the majority of the menu is NOBREAD approved. To begin, I highly recommend the kale salad. I rarely order kale salads for dinner, especially at lounges, but this kale salad with pomegranate and lemon vinaigrette is one of the best I’ve had in the city so far. The citrus salad with avocado and pistachio is another gluten free salad option that I hear is pretty great, too. If you can handle a bit of cross contamination, you HAVE to order the truffle fries with parmesan. The fries are sliced super thin so you won’t feel bad over-indulging. I may or may not have ordered a second order of fries at the bar on my last visit… they’re just so good! The pizzas at The Nice Guy are popular orders and perfect when sharing plates with friends, and nobread-er’s we are in luck! Gluten free pizza crust is available for $3 extra, and all pizzas are gluten free when you use this crust. Lastly, I recommend the roasted cauliflower, roasted carrots, and roasted brussels sprouts– just make sure you ask for the brussels with no breadcrumbs!
Great food and cocktails and an even better scene; it’s no wonder why The Nice Guy is such a popular Los Angeles spot. It’s popular amongst Hollywood’s A-List, too, so you never know who you’ll run into!
