The NoMad is a high end restaurant located within The NoMad Hotel and is the perfect restaurant to go to when you’re in the mood for an all around fine dining experience. Between the food, the intimate ambiance, and the exemplary service, The NoMad is perfect for special occasions, and to top it off, the food is exquisite and nobread friendly…
The majority of the menu at The NoMad IS gluten free, and the fractional portion of the menu that is not gluten free CAN be made gluten free. For example, the tuna tartar can be done without the soy, and the foie gras can be served with nobrioche. One item on the menu that CANNOT be made gluten free is the whole roasted chicken for two with foie gras, black truffle, and brioche. The chicken is injected with this flavorful mix a day in advance, and the brioche is mixed in with the foie gras and black truffle. Being that The NoMad is KNOWN for this chicken, I was devastated when I had to sit this course out; for all my bread friends out there, my guests commented that it was pretty incredible. The tagliatelle with king crab also cannot be done gluten free, as there are no gluten free pasta alternatives (my friends raved about this dish, too).
For the nobread crowd, I highly recommend the roasted brussels sprouts salad with apples and hazelnuts, the butternut squash with apple and quinoa (I subbed mushrooms for the sausage), the slow-cooked cod with cauliflower, seared scallops, hamachi with beets, beef tartare with gluten free bread, and the suckling pig. I have been to The NoMad on multiple occasions now, and everything I have had is outstanding.
From its decor, to the people, to the food; everything about The NoMad screams high-class. Oh, and I can’t forget about the incredible cocktail menu! Make sure to check out the Library Bar next to the dining area. This bar is one of the best cocktail bars in New York City and the perfect place to start and finish your NoMad experience. I highly recommend The NoMad for your next fine dining experience.
