The Polo Bar, opened by Ralph Lauren in January 2015, is by far the hottest and hardest reservation to land in New York City right now. With celebrity sightings almost nightly and socialites from around the world making the lounge their destination dinner, The Polo Bar is the place to be. I had the opportunity to have dinner and drinks at the hotspot this week, and I’m happy to say the restaurant lives up to its hype. The food is delicious, the lounge is exclusive and cool, and the scene is definitely an experience…
Serving quality American cuisine, it is easy to be gluten free at The Polo Bar. To start, the shrimp cocktail and tuna tartar are both gluten free. I didn’t think the tuna was gluten free given that it is served with toast and finished with a soy dressing, but the appetizer IS gluten free! Yes, the toast is GF, too! As much as I try NOT to order salads for dinner, especially when I am at a restaurant known for their hearty entrees, the salads looked so delicious I had to indulge! The lobster salad with arugula, avocado, green beans, fennel, and citrus vinaigrette is amazing and an absolute must order. I can’t remember the last time I’ve had lobster that tender! If you decide to go with an entree, I highly recommend the salmon served with broccoli, snap peas, and green beans; I had major food envy when I saw how delicious the salmon looked. The chicken paillard and grilled branzino are also screaming my name for next time! For the carnivores, The Polo Bar is VERY well known for their steaks and burgers. The burger is gluten free when you ask for nobread, and the fries are a must order. Also the filet mignon and NY strip steak are incredibly popular; both are gluten free AND served with fries!
The Polo Bar is an ideal restaurant for all sorts of occasions– girl’s night out, date night, dinner with your parents, dinner with clients, and more. You name it, The Polo Bar is well suited for it. Be sure to grab cocktails at the bar upstairs before or after your meal– it is quite the scene!
