If you ever find yourself in Manhattan Beach, brunch at The Rockefeller is a must. From the cool vibe emanating from every window to their large and diverse menu full of gluten-free goodness, you won’t be disappointed…
If you know me, you know I live for brunch. The Rockefeller has a perfect selection, with a great balance between breakfast-y items and lunch items. I went a little ham, as per usual, and got a bunch of things to try.
The first course consisted of the healthy steak salad and chicken and avocado burrito, but in bowl form rather than in a tortilla. The steak salad was very exciting and had a lot going on, with baby kale, tomatoes, cremini mushroom, caramelized onion, grilled corn, gorgonzola cheese, carrots, almond slivers, and a sherry honey vinaigrette.
The chicken and avo burrito “bowl” was also great. The Rockefeller has two breakfast burritos on their menu, and they’ll happily put either in a bowl for you rather than a tortilla to avoid gluten. It wouldn’t be a brunch without me if I didn’t order a side of bacon so…that happened.
Next I ordered the braised short rib taco and lobster stuffed avocado. If you’re feelin’ the tacos, make sure to ask for corn tortillas. Some come with flour but they’ll be happy to accommodate you. I especially loved the guacamole and roasted tomato salsa that came on the side.
The lobster stuffed avocado is any NOBREAD-er’s dream. Think luscious avocado nestled inside an already creamy and dreamy avocado on a bed of greens. This is an absolute must-order!
I didn’t order drinks or dessert on this occasion, but you know The Rockefeller has several boozy options to accompany their fantastic food. Even if you don’t live near Manhattan Beach, it’s definitely worth a trip down – make a day out of it!
