Located within The Quin Hotel, The Wayfarer is a Midtown hotspot with a cool vibe and awesome food. The restaurant’s high ceilings and chic interior set the vibe for an upscale experience, yet at reasonable prices. I had the opportunity to go to the restaurant for brunch this week, and had a great experience! From the (gluten-free) eats, to the staff, everything about The Wayfarer exceeded my expectations…
When you think of Midtown dining, I’m sure you think of bland and corporate, but The Wayfarer is anything but this stigma. With so many delicious gluten-free options on the menu, it was so hard deciding what to order! I order an avocado toast whenever I see a GF avocado toast on the menu, so I had to start with that! Topped with eggs, the avocado toast had me very impressed! My friends and I also ordered the Lobster Benedict on gluten-free bread (this was my personal request as I LOVE lobster). Smothered in hollandaise sauce, the Benedict can be topped with lobster, smoked salmon, Canadian bacon, or spinach (Florentine-style). Next up, we ordered the smoked salmon platter but subbed the bagel out for more gluten-free toast! This dish is a must order and perfect to share with friends. Given our brunch was super late in the day, and I for one hadn’t eaten breakfast, we also ordered the Chicken Paillard, Chicken Sausage, and a side of Truffle Fries! I had my doubts about ordering the Chicken Paillard, as I was in the mood for brunch and I don’t usually order chicken at restaurants, but the chicken was super tasty and I was so happy we ordered it! The truffle fries were also delicious, but they were cooked in a shared fryer. so if you are subject to cross-contamination you’ll have to sit these out.
The Wayfarer also has an extensive sushi selection, and all of the sushi can be made gluten-free except for the fried chicken and the tempura rolls. The Wayfarer even offers gluten-free soy sauce! With something for everyone, The Wayfarer is the perfect place for your next client lunch or outing with the family, and I’m excited to go back one day to check out the dinner menu! It looks amazing!
