Tryst has cemented its status as a neighborhood hotspot. Tryst is known for its amazing coffee, but it is slowly becoming a hotspot for brunch as well. I went for the first time last year for a Nutella Latte and knew I had to come back to try the gluten-free pastries!…
Tryst is extremely nobread friendly and it carries an assortment of gluten-free pastries! All of the pastries are baked fresh every morning and are stored in a separate display case from the gluten-filled pastries. The Magic Bar had everything you could imagine: from peanuts, to chocolate chips, to coconut; it is the most popular gluten-free option and I can see why! The Magic bar was the perfect combination of soft and chewy. There were also two gluten-free muffins (Maple Almond and Orange Cranberry), as well as a chocolate mint cookie. If you are not in the mood for a pastry, Tryst also offers a handful of gluten-free brunch and “munch” options. For brunch there is a Spinach Frittata and Yogurt with Fruit. My favorite brunch option however is the Jalapeno Corn Bread Waffle. “Munch” is served all day and offers gluten-free patrons Spinach Dip and Roasted Garlic Hummus with homemade potato chips and vegetables instead of flatbread and nachos.
No matter what time of day you visit, Tryst is packed with everyone from students typing away rapidly on laptops while sipping their lattes, to couples sitting down for a relaxed brunch or lunch. Tryst has slowly become my favorite spot to do work. I am looking forward to trying their “munch” next time I am in Adams Morgan!
