Wexler’s Deli is one of the most popular sandwich shops in LA. Founded by Chef Micah Wexler, the Chef of LA’s beloved Mezze, the Jewish sandwich shop is located in Grand Central Market and business is booming. Between Eggslut, McConnell’s, and Wexler’s Deli, it’s no wonder why Grand Central Market has become such a Downtown hotspot! Quick and cheap eats in a cool, casual atmosphere makes for the perfect NOBREAD lunch…
There is no gluten free bread offered at the Deli, and given that the only items on the menu are sandwiches this is a bit of a downer. HOWEVER, don’t let this hold you back from going to the shop; sandwiches can be made gluten free if you ask for NOBREAD! The O.G. Sandwich with pastrami and mustard is a crowd favorite, as is the L.A. Bird with turkey, mustard and coleslaw. If sandwiches with nobread aren’t your thing, the shop also sells potato chips, coleslaw, pickles, and more if you’re in the mood for a small bite.
Although Wexler’s Deli isn’t necessarily the most exciting spot to grab a bite for those of us who are gluten free, I’m glad to see the staff is willing to accommodate dietary restrictions and serve their famous sandwiches without bread. Complete your ‘sandwich’ with a nobread-friendly side and make the most of your meal!
