So here's what we think...

Pacific Catch is located in the outer Sunset among various other restaurants and shops. It’s a quieter part of the city, which is a nice escape on the weekends. Even better is that the restaurant faces The Presidio, which makes you feel like you are miles from the busy city life…

Immediately after sitting down, the waitress brought over a small dish of edamame and pretzel goldfish. She was kind enough to bring over a separate dish of edamame for me sans gold fish to avoid any cross contamination! I scanned the menu which had a symbol next to everything that was either naturally gluten-free, or could be modified.

I ordered the chicken sate appetizer, which came with naturally gluten-free peanut sauce. Many of the dishes at Pacific Catch are prepared with gluten-free tamari which allows for more gluten-free options! Following the sate, I enjoyed a trio of poke. Pacific Catch is most known for their poke, and for a good reason. The trio includes a salmon avocado, seared tuna, and California style. In order to make the dish 100% gluten free, I swapped out the traditional wonton crackers for some tortilla chips.

Next up I enjoyed a inside out California sushi roll with spicy tuna on top. Everything at Pacific Catch is extremely fresh and so flavorful. Many rolls are smothered with a sauce to make up for lack of flavor, but this roll was very refreshing and full of flavor. I accompanied it with some gluten-free soy sauce, of course!

My favorite dish was the green curry bowl. Per the waitress’s suggestion, I subbed out the rice for greens. This bowl was huge, and luckily I had a lunch date to help me finish it. The bowl was packed with flavor and a fresh piece of Mahi Mahi. Though this was a very rich menu item, the freshness from the fish and the volume of veggies made it feel less dense.

The wait staff at Pacific Catch was so accommodating and very understanding, and the food was so delicious and fresh! It’s nice to be able to dine in a restaurant that has more than a handful of options for us who are gluten-free, and that also is flexible when it comes to making modifications. I will for sure be coming back for lunch again!
