Sometimes, gluten can hide in unlikely places. Condiments can be tricky, especially because we don’t expect gluten to be lurking. Here are our NOBREAD approved picks for GF sauces that compliment all kinds of meals!
1. Soy Sauce
People don’t realize that soy sauce has gluten. Unfortunately, a lot of Japanese and Asian Fusion restaurants do not carry Tamari, which is GF soy sauce. I carry these Kikkoman packets with me in my purse– that way, I can order sushi anywhere!
2. Ketchup
Sir Kensington’s is an awesome, innovative new line of condiments that are all gluten free! I love the all natural, non-GMO ketchup! It has 50 percent less sugar than your average bottle, which makes me never want to go back to generic! If you like something more tangy, go for their spiced version!
3. Spicy and Sweet
I’m obsessed with products from The Ginger People. Their ginger chews are the best and they have a lot of options that don’t have gluten. This sweet ginger chili sauce is one of my go-tos. I put it on tofu and chicken, or use it as a dip for my raw veggies!
4. Peanut Sauce
Peanut sauce is another one of my favorites. This version from San-J let’s me spice up my cooking, NOBREAD style! I highly recommend it with chicken satay or fresh rolls. It also makes great salad dressing!
5. Hot Sauce
Start! Hot Curry Sauce is gluten free, vegan, non-GMO, and all natural sauce. It’s a unique blend of curry spices that can be added to practically anything. There’s no hidden ingredients: no sugar, preservatives, MSG, or high fructose corn syrup. I love to add it to guacamole, eggs, and salads or splash it into soups or stir-fry.
