Bakeries aren’t the most mindful of the gluten-intolerant. Consequently we are often left out of all of the fun. Heading over for brunch, I decided to try some lunch items and desserts for a sweet finish. We opted for seven different macarons and a Raspberry and White Chocolate Magnum Popsicle pastry (white chocolate outside and choco mouse with raspberry filling inside). The Macarons were perfect of course- of all of the flavors we had, pistachio and salted caramel were my favorites! As for the magnum bar, the mousse was light and the raspberry filling obviously homemade. Delicious!

For the lunch items, the niçoise salad was so refreshing and delicious, consisting of tuna, tomatoes, hard-boiled egg, olives niçoises, radicchio, mesclun salad, bell pepper, celery, cucumber, green onions, anchovies, and classic vinaigrette. The salad does come with bread, but that can be easily removed. I loved that they chose to do tuna two ways – something I hadn’t seen before in a niçoise! In addition we had the California Tartine – ahi tuna, avocado, lettuce, tomato – with NO BREAD, in which a rice sheet was substituted for the base.

As it is a bakery, the surfaces are shared with many of their loaves and pastries, and are therefore subject to cross-contamination. Open for breakfast and lunch, this is a great spot to grab a fresh meal on the outdoor patio, or to drop in for an iced coffee and a macaron, or five…
