Baked and Wired is the hidden cupcake gem of Georgetown. With its “get baked” slogan, imaginative cupcakes names (the Elvis Impersonator AKA The Unporked Elvis anyone?), and unique flavor combinations, Baked and Wired has created a cult cupcake following that has continued to grow…
Baked and Wired has a number of gluten-free options. They offer two gluten-free cakecups (yes cakecups not cupcakes), the Hell Yeah! and the Gluten-Free Chocolate Strawberry, along with a handful of other items such as cookies, brownies, and granola. The Hell Yeah! is not only gluten-free, but vegan as well; it consists of chocolate cake and chocolate frosting. It is impossible to tell that the cakecup is dairy-free, too! My other personal favorite is the Caramel Blondie. Chocked full of caramel, peanuts, peanut butter chips and chocolate chips, the Caramel Blondie is amazing. Even my non gluten-free friends have tried it and raved about it! Also, if you are a coffee addict like me, I highly recommend grabbing a cup of coffee as well. Thrillist named Baked and Wired the best coffee shop in Georgetown.
All of Baked and Wired’s gluten-free options are amazing. There is usually a line on the weekends, but if you time your trip right they are easy to avoid. If you ever happen to be in Washington DC, a trip to Baked and Wired is necessary!
