Benjamin Steakhouse, located in Midtown East, is a hidden Midtown gem and an excellent option for a client lunch or dinner with friends. Benajmin is very old school, serving meat, vegetables, potatoes, and fish, which is not only incredible for the nobread crowd, but super easy for diners of all diets (ie. paleo, vegan, dairy free). With the exception of a few appetizers and sandwiches listed on the lunch menu, the majority of the Benjamin menu is gluten free, and I’d like to think I’ve found a new Midtown Steakhouse to include in my mix…
For a main course, both the appetizer size and entree size salads are excellent choices if you are in the mood for something light. The only difference between the entree salad vs the entree itself is that the meat or fish in the salad is served with greens, rather than with a vegetable and potato side. Both are healthy and nobread approved! Benjamin also offers an extensive list of steaks and meats served in various sizes and cuts. There are plenty of options and you will absolutely find the dish that suits your craving. Items to avoid on the menu include the crab cakes, onion rings, fried calamari, and if you are senstive to cross contamination, the french fries.
Lunch and dinner at Benjamin are great, and believe it or not, they serve breakfast, too! Breakfast consists of egg dishes and fruit options which are perfect for the nobread diner; you can have them all as long as you ask for nobread with the benedicts and nogranola with your fruit. Convenient for the midtown business crowd for a meeting, nobread friendly, and not overly crowded; Benjamin Steakhouse shouldn’t be overlooked!
