Blu Jam Cafe, located in Fairfax, Sherman Oaks, and Woodland Hills, lives up to its rave reviews and features a delicious menu that focuses on local ingredients. I went to the cafe for the first time recently, and I now know why people wait hours to dine at this LA hotspot. For vegetarians, healthy eaters, and even gluten free foodies, Blu Jam Cafe offers a great selection of plates at all times of the day, making it one of the most popular brunch spots in the Los Angeles area…
What strikes me the most about Blu Jam is their commitment to featuring a menu full of organic produce, meats, and fresh seafood with no antibiotics or added hormones. For breakfast and brunch–which is served all day–the egg scrambles feature various fresh and organic ingredients and is one of the most popular choices for us health conscious diners. Not only are you able to add up to 4 fillings in your scramble, but the list of fillers is extensive and more than just the plain ‘ol spinach and onions. I fill my scrambles with ground turkey, avocado, zucchini, and sun dried tomatoes! For a filling gluten free option, the chilaquiles are made with Blu Jam’s house made corn chips. They’re pretty awesome! The brunch carbonara is my personal favorite; this dish is a hearty take on an egg breakfast dish, featuring arborio rice. I like to think of this dish as a unique version of breakfast risotto. Don’t skip the drinks at Blu Jam! Although they do not serve alcohol, the French press coffees and teas are awesome.
If you’re in the mood for a meal in a cozy atmosphere, yet still desire good food and unlimited options, Blu Jam is your spot. The restaurant definitely lives up to the praise it has conjured in the LA foodie scene. Blu Jam can AND will accommodate every eater, making the restaurant NOBREAD approved!
