Clyde’s of Georgetown has been a brunch hotspot in DC for over thirty years. The restaurant has a very American feel, and it is the perfect spot for a relaxing meal with family or friends. The friendly, and nobread knowledgeable staff, creates a welcoming environment that will make you happy you decided to go to Clyde’s…
Clyde’s of Georgetown is best known for its breakfast and brunch. To start, I highly recommend ordering the deviled eggs with pickled Fresno pepper. They are a must-have brunch starter in my family and nobread approved! On my last visit to the restaurant, we ventured out and tried the Roasted Corn and Guacamole, which is served with watermelon radish and plantain chips. Although it was different than what we had expected, we all loved the interesting mix of flavors. The plantain chips are subject to cross-contamination in the fryer, so be careful if you are sensitive! For my main dish I ordered the Q’s Omelette (which is no longer on the menu but can be made special) with ham, cheddar cheese and tomatoes. As always, I was not disappointed! I ordered mine with french fries (which are subject to cross contamination in the fryer, too). Other nobread-approved orders at my table included an omelette with bacon and cheddar cheese, and the grilled chicken salad with apples and walnuts, both of which looked delicious, as well. Also, Clyde’s offers a red quinoa crepe on the brunch menu; however, flour is added to the batter, and it is not gluten-free. The staff was very nobread knowledgable, and was happy to answer any allergy related question I had!
I have been going to Clyde’s for years, and come to think of it, I have only been for brunch! However, I will soon go back for dinner and I look forward to trying their Grilled Atlantic Swordfish! No matter the occasion, Clyde’s is a great place to go for a great meal.
