Estrella is an indoor-outdoor restaurant with one of the best outdoor spaces in West Hollywood. Actually, it might be one of the best outdoor spaces in all of Los Angeles! The vibe is awesome and the ambiance is absolutely adorable. The first time I went to the restaurant was on a weeknight, and my friend and I were seated at a cozy table for two in front of the outdoor fireplace. I went for lunch on my second time at the restaurant, and I was seated at an outdoor sofa, which was both beautiful and comfortable! The menu at Estrella is very gluten-free friendly, and there are plenty of options for the NOBREAD crowd…
The lunch and dinner menus share many items, but are also quite different! For lunch, my friend and I ordered the cauliflower hummus to start. I love hummus and I love cauliflower, and the combination of the two is amazing. The dish is served with raw cauliflower florets and fried tortilla chips. If you are sensitive to items cooked in a shared fryer, stick to the florets! We also ordered the baby greens salad with pomegranate, squash, and pumpkin seeds, and added grilled salmon for extra protein. This salad was absolutely delicious, and it is the perfect, light lunch entree. The tuna poke nicoise salad is one of the most popular dishes on the menu, and it is gluten-free as long as you ask for no ponzu! For the meat lovers, the burger is delicious, and it’s topped with a fried egg for some extra food porn. Fries comes with the burger, but if you are sensitive to cross-contamination, I suggest opting for a side salad instead. All of the lunch items looked delicious, and I also had my eye on the Little Gems, warm chickpea salad with nobread, and grilled chicken paillard. At dinner, be sure to tell your server about your gluten allergy! Many meats are pre-marinated in soy, and cannot be made gluten-free.
I have yet to go to Estrella for brunch, but I WILL be back VERY soon to try “The Rolling Stone.” This MASTERPIECE is an egg with cheese stuffed in an avocado and wrapped in bacon. Doesn’t sound possible? Well, you better believe it is! AND it’s gluten-free! Estrella is one of the most beautiful restaurant’s in West Hollywood, and the service and food just adds to the experience. I highly recommend trying out this spot ASAP!
