It’s official- I’m in love with Notting Hill. Which should be no surprise, as the movie Notting Hill is one of my all-time favorites. The adorable town was the first area I went to this week when I popped into town, and in asking friends and locals for their Notting Hill favorites, almost everyone said Granger & Co. The restaurant is Australian, yet unlike other Aussie cafes that have a super chill vibe, Granger & Co has an upscale feel… similar to Fred’s at Barney’s for my NYC readers…
The menu at Granger & Co can be described as classic American/English, with delicious brunch items and salads, as well as larger plates and grain bowls, most of which, sadly, are not gluten-free. Three dishes that you will see on just about every table are the Scrambled Eggs with an avocado flower (gluten-free if no toast), the Fresh Aussie which consists of smoked salmon, poached eggs, greens, avocado, and cherry tomatoes (again gluten-free if no toast), and the Chopped Salad with edamame, courgette, cabbage, crunchy chickpeas, beetroot, corn, and finished with a citrus sesame dressing (gluten-free if no dressing, or ask for balsamic). My table went with the latter two, and I was thoroughly impressed with both dishes. The salad was super filling, especially after we topped it with grilled salmon, and the Fresh Aussie provides so much variety! For those who are dairy-free, the scrambled eggs are made with dairy, but you can ask for a dairy-free version!
Granger & Co has a crowd at all times of the day, and it is perfect for any meal! I’m told it is a great place to order a tea or latte and do work, too. Granger & Co is truly the quintessential Notting Hill restaurant, and I highly recommend checking them out!
