Most of my posts center around brunch or dinner, but when it comes to Quality Meats, I NEED to highlight lunch: the forgotten meal. Quality is the perfect Midtown West spot to bring clients- it’s not loud and crazy like other midtown hotspots, and the food is delicious. Most importantly, unlike generic steakhouses, Quality Meats is actually HEALTHY and there are plenty of options for the nobread crowd…
Yes, Quality Meats serves your classic filet mignons, sirloins, and ribeyes (all #nobread approved), but they also serve incredible salads. Five chopped salads with a variety of lettuces and vegetables can be finished with your choice of roasted vegetables, grilled chicken, shrimp, diver scallops, tuna, filet mignon, or lobster. Because of my allergy, I customize most things that I order, so you can imagine how much I love a restaurant where my order is meant to be customized. The salads are BIG and the ‘quality’ of the add-ons is incredible. If you’re not in the mood for a salad, the simply pan roasted fish is delicious, as are all of the QM Classics.
I know I said this post would be about lunch, but I do need to highlight the dinner menu a bit. At dinner, the entree salads from the lunch menu are removed and the list of QM Classics and meat/fish options are expanded. My favorite feature to the dinner menu is, of course, the SIDE section. The sides are split into categories: the market and potatoes. From the market you can select three of my favorites: sauteed spinach, grilled asparagus, and roasted baby carrots, and from the potatoes you can select SEVERAL of my favorite options, too. Pan roasted potatoes, waffle fries, roasted baby potatoes, and the quality potato to name a few. Potatoes are the key to any gluten free person’s heart, and I think all menus should have a dedicated potato section! One side note: the fried potato sides are not totally nobread friendly… unfortunately fried foods here are subject to cross contamination.
Lastly, for all the #dairy eaters out there, Quality Meats is KNOWN for their ice cream desserts. I haven’t tried them, but I hear people talk more about the dessert more than I hear people talk about the steak! A steakhouse with healthy, nobread options that will leave you satisfied for days… I highly recommend a visit to Quality Meats.
