Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse is an NYC classic. They serve both high quality beef and wine in an elegant atmosphere with an impressive menu to match. The Midtown location makes the restaurant the perfect spot for a celebratory dinner, or a place to dine with your parents when they come into town. Uncle Jack’s is a meat-loving dude’s paradise, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t NOBREAD friendly! The chef is accommodating and there are plenty of gluten free options…
Our table shared the oysters Jackefeller (great name) and the lobster cocktail. Be sure to specify that you don’t want any crackers on the side. If you’re the type of person who can’t skip veggies, the salads here are great! The fresh Buffalini mozzarella tomato salad with organic greens and basil is gluten free if you order it without the balsamic reduction. I went for the Tuscan kale salad with feta, granny smith apples, chickpeas, almonds, olive oil and lemon herb dressing. It tasted like it was right out of Europe–it was delicious! Definitely order the sweet potato fries to share. I also ordered the boneless NY strip, while my guy friends couldn’t resist the massive 48 ounce Porterhouse For Two, which came in both a filet and New York strip cut. Go big or go home! If you’re dragged here and beef isn’t your thing, go for the Cajun salmon pan seared in Chardonnay sauce with steamed asparagus spears.
I was really surprised at how well I could eat at Uncle Jack’s! It’s super indulgent and special. I mean, they have shaved French black summer truffles that you can add to your dish (for a price). I know where I’ll be celebrating when NOBREAD gets 50,000 followers…
