Coconut Vanilla Smoothie

There is so much more to our food than its physical contents. To me, food is about love. I’m currently living in LA, apart from my best friend, my Mom. Every morning, my mom and I make a breakfast smoothie using our Vitamin, and check in to compare what ingredients we are using that week, often trying to one up each other on whose smoothie is more creative. It’s so funny how a simple breakfast can make such a big distance feel so small. In fact, when I go back to NYC next, I’ve built in a day or two where I can stay with my mom, partially because I’m so excited to do our morning routines together!

THE OTHER LOVE LANGUAGE is a series of two videos featuring a chef who has been inspired, motivated, and encouraged by a person in their life whom they’ve never taken the opportunity to recognize or thank. We meet each chef, and then watch them as they surprise the person who helped get them there with a meal prepared with love, gratitude, and a Vitamix. I can totally relate, and in honor of the video, I’m featuring my Mom and I’s favorite smoothie recipe!!

For our gratitude inspired recipe, You Will Need:

1.5 Cups Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk (I use So Delicious)
1 T Chia Seeds
.5T Coconut Oil
1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
.5T Brain Octane
Optional: Berries
A Vitamix!

What You Will Do:
Place all ingredients in a Vitamix, seal, and liquify!
I leave the Vitamin on for ~30 seconds, because I like for all my chia seeds to be fully dissolved.

And just like that, your smoothie is complete!
