Spiked Ice Cream with Stoli Crushed!

A recipe so easy and fun I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner! I’ve spiked everything from candy to fruit with Stoli Gluten Free, and I’ve even made Vodka ice pops! But I never thought to spike my ice-cream! Goodness I’m so happy I did. I love coconut everything and after finding two pints of Coconut Ice Cream in my freezer this afternoon, I knew exactly what it was time to do. Introducing my spiked Ice Cream made with Stoli Crushed!

What You Will Need:
2 Pints of your favorite Ice Cream! (I used So Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream)
3 oz Stoli Crushed Grapefruit
3 oz Stoli Crushed Pineapple

What You Will Do:
Pour first pint of softened ice cream into a blender. Add 3 oz of your first Stoli Crushed Vodka into the blender, and blend until totally incorporated! Pour into a bowl and freeze for ~5 hours before eating!
Repeat for your second pint and second Stoli Crushed Flavor!

Both the grapefruit and pineapple flavors paired so well with the coconut ice cream, and you can taste the fruit flavor and alcohol without it being too strong! Dessert is meant to be fun, and adding a little alcohol into the dessert itself is definitely the best way to get the fun started!

Spiked Watermelon Balls

Did you know the Fourth of July ranks THIRD of the list of Most Popular Drinking Days in a year? I can’t say I’m surprised! But the Fourth of July isn’t just for any kind of drinking. It is a day of fun, festive, and unique cocktails! In honor of this lovely holiday, I’m back at it making my most popular beverage: Spiked Watermelon Balls with Stoli Gluten-Free!

Last year when I made Drunk Melon Balls they were a HUGE hit so all of my friends have been requesting them again this year!! Here’s a little refresher on how it’s done 🙂

What You Will Need:
1 Watermelon
1 Bottle Stoli Gluten Free
Optional: Lime Juice
Melon Baller

What You Will Do:

Slice open your watermelon!
Scoop balls of watermelon and place into a large bowl.
Pour Stoli Gluten Free over the melon balls. Pour however much it takes to submerge the balls!
Cover, and place in a refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours. The outcome is best when you let the balls chill overnight!
Take the watermelon balls out of the bowl, and place them back in the watermelon shell.
Serve alongside more watermelon slices and fruit, and enjoy!

Stoli Crushed Pineapple and Gluten Free Pineapple Coconut Bread

Stoli Crushed Pineapple Mojito!

If you haven’t seen or heard me obsess over the new Stoli Crushed on social media or here on NOBREAD, you may be asking what is this new yellow Stoli?! Well, Stoli Crushed launched last week in Pineapple and Grapefruit, and we at NOBREAD are obsessed. CRUSHED is made from corn and buckwheat, just like Stoli Gluten-Free, but it is also infused with 10% real fruit juice! It launched just in time for summer, a.k.a. prime BBQ season! And I’m headed to a BBQ this weekend, with Crushed in tow.

What’s amazing about Crushed is that you can serve it with club soda or use it in a fun cocktail! I for one don’t get to enjoy fun cocktails too often (bars & restaurants typically sneak too much sugar or gluten in there) so I’ve been perfecting a Pineapple Mojito recipe using Pineapple Crushed! I’m also notorious for bringing a NOBREAD BREAD with me to every event I attend, so what better time to try out a gluten-free PINEAPPLE bread!! Warning: this combo might be one of the best I’ve made to date!

Pineapple Mojito
What You Will Need:

2 parts Stoli Crushed Pineapple
1 part Lime Juice
3⁄4 part simple syrup
Muddled Pineapple
3-4 Mint Leaves

What You Will Do:

First create your simple syrup. To do so, boil 1 Cup of water in a saucepan. Once boiling, add in 1 Cup of sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
When dissolved, let your syrup cool.

Muddle fresh pineapple and mint leaves together in a glass.
Add ice, simple syrup, Pineapple Stoli Crushed, and lime juice.
To fill your glass, continue adding each ingredient BUT be sure to keep your ratios in proportion!!
Top with mint leaves and serve!!

What’s better than a refreshing Pineapple Mojito on a hot summer day? A slice of our NOBREAD Gluten-Free Pineapple Coconut Bread to go along with it, of course!!

Gluten Free Pineapple Coconut Bread

What You Will Need:
½ cup over-ripe bananas, mashed (2 small or one large)
¾ cup crushed pineapple, drained
½ cup sugar
¼ cup light brown sugar
½ cup coconut oil
1 egg
½ t. vanilla extract
1½ cups all-purpose gluten free flour blend (+ ¾ t. Xanthun gum if your flour blend
doesn’t include it)
1½ t. baking powder
½ t. baking soda
½ t. salt
1 T cinnamon
¾ cup unsweetened shredded coconut

What You Will Do:

  • In a small bowl, combine your dry ingredients (sugar, brown sugar, GF flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon).
  • Take two smaller bowls- in one, mash your two bananas. In the second, crush pineapple. **DON’T** puree it in a blender or Vitamix because then it will become juice! Chop it up as best you can, or crush it!
  • In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, pineapple, whisked egg, coconut oil, and vanilla.

  • Pour the small bowl of dry ingredients into the large bowl of wet ingredients. Mix until the two are incorporated!

  • Add the unsweetened shredded coconut, and mix!

  • Line a bread pan with parchment paper or grease a pan with coconut oil. Pour the batter in.

  • Cook at 350 for ~40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool before adding your glaze.

Powdered Sugar Glaze:

What You Will Need:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 T Water
½ cup toasted shredded coconut

What You Will Do:

In a saucepan or skillet, combine powdered sugar and water.
Once mixed, toss in your toasted shredded coconut.
Mix quick, and pour the glaze over your cooled bread! It will harden.

And just like that, you have a delicious, gluten-free Pineapple Bread to pair with your Pineapple Mojito! Enjoy!!

Stoli® Crushed

I know I’ve been teasing, but it’s FINALLY time to announce the launch of Stoli® Crushed! Stoli Vodka is expanding their portfolio into the real fruit juice vodka sub-category with this new, fresh, fun expression of premium Stoli Vodka mixed with real fruit juice! Think your classic (gluten-free) vodka, but blended with 10 percent real fruit juice for a refreshing taste. So these beautiful colors you see here… they are totally natural!!

You may be thinking “I’ve seen fruit flavored vodka before” but this is TOTALLY different. The fruit juice in Stoli Crushed is REAL and Crushed has 20 percent less calories than its closest real fruit juice vodka competitor. Stoli Crushed mixes perfectly with Crushed Ice and/or club soda, delivering a refreshing, cocktail that can be enjoyed anytime and anywhere. I love it because it is easy to drink on-the-go – from the beach to the backyard –  just unscrew the cap to make delicious simple cocktails and let the fun begin.

  • Pineapple: Tropical ripe, juicy pineapple with a fragrant citrus nose
  • Ruby Red Grapefruit: Fresh pink grapefruit with a bright citrus nose

If you didn’t catch it above… you don’t want to miss the best part! Crushed is made with 88% corn and 12% buckwheat, just like Stoli Gluten-free, so it’s 100% gluten-free, too! “Gluten-Free” is even noted crystal clear on each bottle. Serve in a pitcher, or use in your fun summer cocktails, I can’t wait for you all to give it a taste!

Stoli Gluten Free Freeze Pops!

Summer is AROUND THE CORNER! And the only thing I love more than summertime and the beach is a cool, tasty cocktail in my hand as I enjoy the season. Fruity cocktails have always been my favorite, but often these cocktail contain ingredients that are high in sugar or high in our enemy, gluten. To remedy this, I’m making your next BBQ… or afternoon refreshment… healthy, gluten-free, and absolutely delicious! Introducing my Strawberry Lime Vodka Pops made with Stoli Gluten Free!

What You Will Need:

Strawberry Syrup (see below)
1 Cup Fresh Lime Juice
1 Cup Stoli Gluten Free
4 Cups Water

For the syrup:
1 Cup Strawberries
1 Cup Sugar (I used Organic Cane Sugar)
1 Cup Water

What You Will Do:

  • First make the simple syrup. In a saucepan, boil 1 Cup of water.
  • Once boiling, add in 1 Cup sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Once dissolved, let your syrup cool.
  • Add 1 Cup strawberries and bring back to a boil.
  • Let the strawberries boil for about 10 minutes… you will notice the syrup will turn red and thicken!
  • After 10 minutes let your strawberry syrup cool.

  • In a pitcher, combine strawberry syrup, 1 Cup fresh lime juice, 1 Cup Stoli Gluten Free, and 4 Cups of water.
  • Stir together.
  • Once mixed, pour into your ice pop holders! I made 6 ice pops with this quantity, and kept the remaining juice in the refrigerator so I could make more pops later… and have a glass after dinner 😉

The ice pops will take about 3 hours to freeze in a freezer. If you have difficulty removing the ice pops from the holder when you are ready to eat them, run the ice pop under cool sink water for a few seconds to loosen!

Homemade, refreshing, and guaranteed gluten-free! Summertime cocktails don’t get much better than this!

The Farmer’s Mule with Stoli Gluten Free

I go to the Farmer’s Market every Sunday morning… even when I have no intentions of buying anything! Thankfully in LA there are Farmer’s Markets in each neighborhood, and markets are often held a couple of times during the week! When it comes to produce, it’s important to purchase the best and most local fruits and veggies, and not just for your snacking purposes. Farmer’s Market berries and produce are the secret weapon in delicious, fruity cocktails.

We all know how much I love Moscow Mule’s made with Stoli Gluten Free Vodka and Ginger Beer, and I’ve become the ultimate Mixologist with my mules! If it’s in season, it’s in my mule! Currently I am loving all of the fresh berries at the market; they are perfect for my “Farmer’s Market Mule!”

stoliFarmer’s Market Moscow Mule with Stoli Gluten Free:

  • Stoli Gluten Free Vodka: 2 Parts
  • Lime Juice: 1/2 Part
  • Stoli Gluten Free Ginger Beer: 3 Parts
  • Small handful fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)

In a shaker muddle your Farmer’s Market berries. Add ice, squeeze of lime, and Stoli Gluten Free vodka and shake well. Strain into a Stoli mug with ice, and top with ginger beer. Garnish with more berries!

Not only is this Moscow Mule super fresh, but it’s packed with antioxidants. I mean, beach season is around the corner, so this fresh cocktail is the perfect, healthy drink!

Blood Orange Moscow Mule with Stoli Gluten Free

‘Tis the season! Of what you ask?! Of Blood Oranges! Blood Oranges are high in vitamin C, potassium, dietary fiber, carotenoids, and polyphenols, so a Blood Orange Moscow Mule is basically healthy, right? Well actually! Especially when you pair it with Stoli Gluten-Free Vodka. Blood Oranges have the highest amount of antioxidants over any other orange, and this drink is tasty, refreshing, and full of the antioxidants you need. Best of all, it’s simple to make!

What You Will Need:

  • 3-4 slices of Blood Orange
  • 1.5 oz Stoli Gluten Free Vodka
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • Stoli Gluten Free Ginger beer
  • Garnish: blood orange & lime slices, mint leaves

What You Will Do:

  • Muddle together blood orange, vodka and lime juice.
  • Fill the glass with ice and top with ginger beer.
  • Stir and serve!

Blood oranges are not only perfect to incorporate in the Moscow Mule, but they are the perfect garnish, too! I also like to add a few mint leaves and a slice of lime for an extra kick.

Serve this Moscow Mule at your next brunch or dinner party, and you’ll have your guests begging for more!

Extreme Brunching with Stoli Gluten Free

What’s not to love about the weekend? For many, there’s no school or work and most importantly, the weekend means it’s time for BRUNCH! My friends and I are never ones to turn down an “Extreme Brunch” (for the new brunch-ers that means an All-You-Can-Drink get together). Typically these brunches take place at restaurants with loud music and an even louder crowd, but recently we decided there’s no need to go out for an Extreme Brunch when we can throw our own!

This weekend it was my turn to host, and I’d like to think I had all the necessary components to make my brunch a successful one. To start, it’s not a brunch unless you serve Bloody Mary’s!

My Stoli Gluten Free Bloody Mary Recipe:
2 Parts Stoli Gluten Free
4 Parts Tomato Juice
½ Part Lemon Juice
¼ Part Freshly Grated Horseradish
Dash of Worcestershire Sauce, Hot Sauce, Salt & Pepper.
Shake up and serve over ice.

My NOBREAD Brunch Menu:
I go buffet style with my brunches. With so many allergies and dietary preferences out there these days, this gives my guests a way to customize their dishes! So what brunch items are staple parts of my feast? To name a few…

Sunny Side Up Eggs
Turkey Bacon
Roasted Sweet Potato and Potato
Banana Bread and Cocoa Banana Bread Muffins
Roasted Carrots
AVOCADOS (mandatory)

roastcarrots bananabreadmuffins

Just like my Brunch Menu, I like to give my guests their own creative freedom when it comes to their Bloody Mary’s. And for that, I make sure to have plenty of Bloody Mary toppings on-hand. From turkey bacon to shrimp, and olives to celery sticks, your topping wish is my command.

Cheers everyone! I hope your brunch is just as extreme as ours!

An Endless Summer… with Stoli Gluten Free

August has gone and September has come, but that doesn’t mean summer is over! Whether you’re back to school or changing your mindset from what am I doing this weekend to what should I wear to work, there is no reason to let that summer spirit fizzle. I mean, summer doesn’t really end until September 21st, right!?

Well, in the spirit of keeping summer alive, I’ve come up with a few NOBREAD-approved recipes and ideas to make it feel like summertime all the time!

The Endless Cocktail…

Raspberry Vodka Mojito, with Stoli Gluten Free Vodka!

What You Will Need:
2-oz Gluten Free Stoli Vodka
3-4 large fresh mint leaves

Lime Club soda
Mint and raspberries for garnish

stolirasp3 stolirasp2

What You Will Do:

In a glass, muddle together mint leaves, raspberries, lime slice and simple syrup until all ingredients are mixed together.
Add vodka and stir well.
Fill glass 1/3 full with ice and top off with club soda and stir.
Garnish with fresh berries and a sprig of fresh mint and serve.

The Endless Feast…

BBQ season is year-round for me. When you live in LA this is a bit easier thanks to the year-round warmth, but even in my NYC days, I grew up with my father bundling up and battling the winter cold to grill our family steaks for Sunday Night Steak Night. Just because the BBQ may have to be moved indoors doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a BBQ! Here are a few of my favorite BBQ recipes that CAN and SHOULD be made year round!

My all-time favorite recipe to make is my Avocado Basil Pesto Pasta! Top it off with grilled shrimp or a protein of your choosing to make it extra filling… recipe here!

The Endless Party…

As much as I believe in living in the moment, I also love planning for fun events in the future. Here are a few festivities and holidays on the horizon we can all look forward to!

September 16- National Guacamole Day
September 26- National Pancake Day
September 29- National Coffee Day

Apple picking month!!!
October 4- National Vodka Day (We all know which alcohol I’ll be celebrating with!)
October 15- My birthday!
October 27- National Potato Day
October 29- National Oatmeal Day
October 31- Halloween!

Memorial Day Weekend with Stoli Gluten Free

It’s Memorial Day weekend, and we all know what that means- summer is here! Well actually, it means a lot more than that. It really means that it is barbecue and fruity cocktail season! So this weekend, as you start planning what beverages you will have at your BBQ or evening rendezvous, I’ve crafted a few patriotic cocktail recipes, using none other than Stoli Gluten Free.

If you didn’t catch my last post about Stoli’s new gluten-free vodka, Stoli introduced Stoli Gluten Free earlier this month. Made from naturally gluten-free ingredients (88% corn and 12% buckwheat), the drink has a unique taste and bold flavor… and most importantly; it is totally safe for us gluten-free folks!

I’ve been recipe testing with Stoli GF for about a month now, and its smooth taste makes it the perfect alcohol component for your (gluten-free) cocktails. This week, in the spirit of red, white, and blue, I made Strawberry and Blueberry Lemonade Vodka pitchers!

Strawberry Lemonade Vodka

What You Will Need:
For the syrup:
1 Cup Strawberries
1 Cup Sugar (I used Organic Cane Sugar)
1 Cup Water

For the Pitcher:
1 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice
1 Cup Stoli Gluten Free
4 Cups Water

What You Will Do:

First make simple syrup. In a saucepan, boil 1 Cup of water. Once boiling, add in 1 Cup Sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved.
Once dissolved, let your syrup cool.
Add 1 Cup Strawberries and bring back to a boil.
Let the strawberries boil for about 10 minutes… you will notice the syrup will turn red and thicken!
After 10 minutes let your strawberry syrup cool.
In a pitcher, combine strawberry syrup, 1 Cup fresh lemon juice, 1 Cup Stoli Gluten Free, and 4-6 Cups of Water.
Stir together, add some ice, and you have yourself a pitcher of Strawberry Lemonade Vodka!

Now repeat, but this time use blueberries!!
And if you want to spice this recipe up a bit, rather then combine all ingredients in a pitcher, combine them in a blender and add a bag of ice. Blend together and this will make frozen lemonades!
